1. What is Eye's Bird Chili?

According to research, Vietnamese chili peppers reach 100,000 - 250,000 degrees SHU. At levels above 100,000, chili peppers can be said to reach a level of spiciness to the point of explosion.


The Vietnam bird’s eye pepper is a small, vibrantly colored hot pepper found in the Vietnam wild, clocking in at 175,000 Scoville. The Bird’s Eye is a small chile, growing to only about 1 inch, but they pack a lot of punch. They mature to red or purple, and have a tapered shape, with a blunt point. Historically found in the Vietnam wild, it has recently been grown commercially in some parts of Vietnam often to be used as pepper extract or as organic pest control.


Bird’s eye chilli is commonly used in the cuisine of Southeast Asian countries. They are used in stir-fry dishes, soups, sauces, marinades and salads. Bird’s eye chillies are remarkable for their extreme spiciness and heightened pungency level.
